Some good points in this article.

"Some 80pc of US taxation is now on labour"

A huge part of the problem in the US, no doubt. Taxing productive work is immoral and counter-productive. It's like rewarding laziness, but worse.

Subsidize what you want more of, tax what you want less of. It’s pretty simple, really.

So we subsidize unemployment in myriad ways, and tax employment and success.
