Andrea must have memory loss about the Iran hostage crisis and the problems it caused Carter. Of course, to liberals, history doesn’t exist.

The Revolutionary Guard still occupy our embassy compound, which they have converted into an anti-American museum. We haven't had diplomatic relations with Iran since November 4, 1979. Some ally.

Former American Embassy in Iran Attracts Pride and Dust-- A dirty doormat, with the words “Down with USA” spray-painted on it, lies at the entrance of what was once the center of American power in Iran. A foam statue, painted bronze, of a United States Marine surrendering to Iranian students is next to the gate.

Known here as “the den of spies,” the embassy is surrounded by high brick walls topped by a rusting iron fence. Inside, the bright-yellow carpeting in the secret communication room has not been changed since radical Islamic students overran the building in 1979 and took 66 Americans hostage in a crisis that lasted 444 days.

“Of course, to liberals, history doesn’t exist.” It sometimes seems that to them history began and ended with “Civil Rights marches.”

Maybe Obama will announce tonight that he will be creating a cabinet level Office of Economic Opportunity. Oh, wait. Lets see, OEO. Nixon already did that. It didn’t turn out so well as I remember it.
