It’s gotten so common that when I win an argument with a liberal, and they DON’T call me a racist, I demand them to do so.
It denotes the end of the argument and signifies the win.

Sure was nice yesterday. Was the last day of the Auto Show so we went to see the new cars. Someone on this thread said 5 inches of snow in N. Houston. Hard to believe possible after yesterdays weather.
To: Orange1998
I haven’t seen snow so many years........ I can hardly wait!
I am just south of I-10, all that weather happens north of here, maybe tomorrow. :)

At times like this I pull out my August 2006 copy of NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC and read the article NO END IN SIGHT! KILLER HURRICANES! which warns us of the gloom and doom of GLOBULL WARMING!
Menawhile, I’ll watch LAWRENCE OF ARABIA and other hot weather films.

N. Houston is like saying Kingwood/The Woodlands. That is where I am and I don’t think the area can handle 5 inches of snow. But I am ready for it!
P. S. Have not seen any local news calling for 5 inches of snow or any snow to speak of.
To: bert
Ah! Forgot about that. I wonder what was worse for him, a Blue Norther or having to eat Cactus Pear all the time.

Is this how the Maunder Minimum started?
If yes, does anyone have an Old Farmers Almanac from between 1645 and 1715 they’d be willing to sell or share?
I would also be interested in any VHS recordings of weather reports from that same time period specifically focusing on the Chicagoland area. Perhaps a WGN newscast.

I remember that it got really cold once in 1989.. also, 1983. I think, as well in 1979.... TWICE in 1974. Oh... and my FIRST cold spell that I remember...in 1962.
Houston got hit by a Hurricane later in the year in several of those years.

Man, I feel sorry for those folks in the Midwest who use propane for heat. Its up to five bucks a gallon. I saw one guy who only had his 1000 gallon tank half filled. It cost him almost $2,500. People simply cannot afford that. I am so glad I locked in the price last fall at 1.85 a gallon...whew!

Having worked outside as a tradesman for many years (in Michigan), I'm a seasoned weather watcher for well over 30 years, and keep up with weather forecasting daily.
I have never been in the middle of such an unrelenting, bitter, snowy, windy winter as this. This is not normal.......it's waaaaay below normal, and has been since fall.
