I had occasion to cross paths with the sons and daughters of these men (SS), in a very remote and unlikely corner of the world. Time and circumstance had brought them all together, where they would gather of an evening, fondly recalling their days as teenagers of the 3rd Reich. I was invited to one of their dinner parties. The old stories, Kierschwasser, and marching songs flowed freely around the table. It was in a word surreal. I still wake up in a cold sweat some nights recalling that dinner party.
