Police responded to an active shooting at Columbia Mall in Maryland shortly after 11:00 a.m. ET. Three people are confirmed dead and the mall remains on lockdown.
UPDATE, 12:40p ET: People inside the mall are being told to wait until they are escorted out. The scene is believes to be secure.
UPDATE, 12:34p ET: Randy Brooks, owner of Edward Arthur Jewelers at Columbia Mall, told Uma Pemmaraju that he heard a couple of pops and then saw people running. He said it appeared that the shooter had a shotgun and was killed, but police have not confirmed that. Brooks said others have reportedly been taken to the hospital.

I live VERY close to this place. I live in Arnold Maryland (Suburb of Annapolis) and Columbia is not to far away. I called my colleagues who live in Columbia but still work at the Naval Academy. They are all fine which is great.
UPDATE, 12:48p ET: Federal authorities who are receiving reports from police on the scene report the shooter killed himself. Stay tuned for a press briefing at 1:15 p.m. ET.
False flag. Just in time to cause a run on guns and ammo.

Sounds like a good guy with a gun took out the bad guy with a gun.
That is great. So glad to see everyone looking out. This is getting ridiculous, but my response to liberals complaining about guns and malls, I simply say that guns are not allowed in malls….they are “no gun zones” and I see it works real well. Kinda makes them shut up for at least a minute.
Maryland has some of the strictest gun control laws in the country. How could this happen? Prayers up for the dead and wounded.
Got there right after the shooting. Cops everywhere, people were being evacuated.

The mall prohibits firearms. Another mass shooting in a “free kill” zone.

I hope thats the case but if it is this story will go dark quickly.
Fox News filling the Saturday airwaves with banal drivel about the shooting. When you don’t have facts, this is what you do. Maybe we’ll get lucky and there will be a high speed chase in LA.

The police are still responding as tho there is (may be) another person involved.
