My God, it’s Saturday and didn’t even check FR today. Found out from my husband who was working all day today 10 min from there.
All of us are 10 min from the Mall. Our house, and my parents’ where I have been most of the day. He came home and told us! We had no idea. He knew because his mother checked on him at work, to ensure he wasn’t at the Mall!
BTW, husband says 29 near the mall was no problem for him coming back here, at 4:30.
Howard County Police Chief Bill McMahon told reporters that the shooter apparently fatally shot a man and woman in their 20s — both store employees — before shooting himself in a store on the second floor. The motive was unclear.
The body of the suspected shooter was found near a shotgun on the floor of Zumiez, a shop that caters to skaters, police said. A large amount of ammunition was found near the body, leading investigators to suspect that he might be carrying explosives.

Leaving for a visit to family (in Baltimore) from Columbia, MD. Noticed helicopter overhead and driving up 29 North, noticed dozens of law enforcement cars with sirens and lights heading south. Turned on the radio and learned about the shooting. Talk about surreal. The icy roads and snow didn’t help the nerves.
