News flash: things have changed a lot since 1961. A lot. The average house in DC now, the kind my family lived in back in the day on working class wages, is now over $700,00, and upscale properties are in the millions and multi-millions.

Did you mean 700K$? $70,000 would buy you a railroad house in most of the country now and you might not even get a TV cable. And by the way the humidity sucks also. I lost 15 pounds in six weeks back there and I was already in top shape. I travel over/thru that general neighborhood occasionally and I always keep the hammer down-—just not my kind of place.
