Steinem was/is a cut above some of the others. Her point against alimony is that it turns women into children who can’t support themselves or make their own way in the world.
I also think opening the eyes of women to the fact that we live in a male-dominated world (if they didn’t know it already) was a good thing. It doesn’t make women hate men. It’s just a fact that goes into the hopper with everything else when you make your life decisions.
Steinem is straight and very attractive and eventually got married. I wrote to her one time trying to start a dialogue on abortion but she never answered.
If she was a cut above other feminists, it was only because while they were up to their necks in the fecal swamp of anti-male/America hatred, she was only up to her shoulders. As much as any femi-nazi, she’s done her best to destroy traditional American values.
