Some here seem to doubt this.
I noted you didn’t post opposing stats which show the U.S. middle class is not being decimated with a widening $ gap.
” Feel free to post a link showing the gap is not expanding.”
Way to change the topic.
We’re talking about the bogus Oxfam study you love.
Do you also believe Oxfam’s global warmist nonsense?
Its lies about Israel?
Its stated desire to tax high income people to “make it fair.”
Way to change the topic
I would imagine a few people owning a lot of the worlds wealth would be associated with an income money gap expanding between classes of people..
Are you suggesting their is an ever expanding $ gap?
BTW, you seem angry.
You prove the negative. Not my job.
All I did was point out this is Oxfam, and there’s another whole thread going on about it, as I knew there would be. Oxfam is a little....biased? Maybe their numbers are FOS? Why should I provide numbers to refute other numbers that are atmospheric extrapolations?
I should add that is a totally bulls**t thing to ask me to do. Millions are spent on economists in a futile effort to demonstrate the effects of any policy on "the middle class," which itself is almost impossible to define. C'mon dragnet, you are better than this. Did someone hack your account?
You never answered his question.
Oxfam is a complete fraud.
Anyone who quotes them is a troll.
It’s not his burden.
You post statistics supporting the Oxfam study.
BTW, I did not answer his questions as I am not familiar with the source even though he suggested, “I love the source”...lol...
Is it your position the $ gap in the U.S. between classes have not been dramatically expanding for years now?
Two MAJOR points of correction here.
1. The 85 people vs 3.5 billion is about WEALTH, not INCOME, despite the mistakenly interchangeable use of the terms. WEALTH is ASSETS (home, property, investments, autos, 401k, stocks, etc) that most of the population doe snot have much of. Those Evil Rich Folks tend to accumulate a lot more because, once the basics are covered, there's really not much else to do with your money.
2. The Gap does NOT grow "under all forms of Socialism". It grows under all forms of HEALTHY economies (and thus Socialist nations are the most likely to reverse this, but to their own detriment, as I shall now explain).
A simple example. I'm evil and rich, and you're innocent and poor. I have $100 million, and you have $100.
By ObamaLaw 2016, we are required to invest in EXACTLY the same way. For easy numbers, let's say we earn 10%.
After one year, you now have $110, and I have $110 million. The gap between us grew by just under $10 million, ($9,999,990 to be exact) even with government forcing us to behave the exact same way!!!! The ONLY mathematical ways to reduce the gap are to either
A. take from the rich and give to the poor (play Robin Hood on a spectacularly massive scale... Zimbabwe is a lovely recent example of how well that works out), or...
B. make the economy retract, and so the losses of the rich are much larger than for the poor (ie $10 million vs $10), and the gap can shrink by $9,999,990... kinda like the slow decay of several dedicated Socialist economies.
In EVERY other mathematically possible scenario, the gap MUST grow, and it is a sign of a HEALTHY economy!!! It is called GROWTH, and we should WANT THAT!!! (Rising tides lifting all boats, etc etc)
Sadly, we are getting so screwed up by the psychotic Left, that we are being instructed almost daily, and many intelligent people even here on FR are buying into it, that the idea itself is somehow bad.
I would imagine a few people owning a lot of the worlds wealth would be associated with an income money gap expanding between classes of people..
Are you suggesting there is not an ever expanding $ gap?
I see you failed to provide the information.
Your last post:
“BTW, I did not answer his questions as I am not familiar with the source even though he suggested, I love the source...lol...”
Your first post:
“Worlds 85 richest people own nearly half of global wealth
And if it was wrong by say 100, it would still be an eyeopening revelation.”
In short, you post crap from crap sources and then back away from your initial crap, claiming you don’t endorse the very source you post.”
Freepers are not that stupid.
Back up the study you posted. Post the data.
I have no data, I just posted a source you said I loved...
(I just happen to come across that source link) I really don’t really love it, Mr. Jewbacca.
BTW, do you have a source which indicates how many own about half the worlds wealth?
And do you deny the $ gap between the classes here in America are ever expanding?
“I have no data”
Admission of your ignorance is the first step.
Good job!
BTW, do you have a source which indicates how many own about half the worlds wealth?
And do you deny the $ gap between the classes here in America are ever expanding?
You’re being evasive...Why not answer the questions?
I answered yours.
I have no interest in your side-issue straw man.
You go back to the DU and get all your evil capitalist info and post it if you want.
And do you deny the $ gap between the classes here in America are ever expanding?
I have no interest in your side-issue straw man.
Side issue?
I would imagine a few people owning a lot of the worlds wealth would be associated with an income money gap expanding between classes of people. No?
You go back to the DU and get all your evil capitalist info and post it if you want.
I thought I detected anger in your comments. BTW, I have never been to the source you quoted.
And it's your right to evade the questions Mr. Jewbacca.
Anytime you want to answer the questions, ping me!
Cheers!
No one is being evasive except you. You’ve posited that massive wealth has accumulated to 85 people.
Well, prove it.
