To: cuban leaf
I just drop it into 2nd gear...no lights needed. The tailgater usually craps his linen and slams on his own brakes when he realizes he is too damned close.

If he hits me, it is his fault and then we can play the game.

That’s what I do when I see a radar cop and don’t want him to see me slowing down. When a guy is on your bumper, the goal is exactly the opposite. I want him to think I’m slamming on my brakes when, in reality I’m only getting the nose to dive and tail to life.

But like I said, I’ve only done that once and it called for it. I’ve not come close to explaining the circumstances under which I did it. I will say again that if I see a guy pointing a gun at me from inside a car, my first impulse would be to ram him off the road (unless I’m in my FR-S, of course. In which case I’d slam on the brakes while dropping it into 3rd, do a 180 and get the heck out of there.
