God sees it differently in this Christ-ruled era.
Now we have a Savior who can not only correct the half-filled glass, He can overflow it.
I have dug deep into Christ and I don’t see a God of “tut-tut-tut” I see a God of “when are you coming home?”
You’re looking at stuff through Old Testament glasses and (face it) your own fallenness.
Christ is God’s bragging rights to grace. It is going to look different now. The persistently evil will be gone. But the “bruised reed and smoldering wick” will “not be broken and not be snuffed out until He leads justice to victory.” Justice meaning what happens when God applies His grace to the willing... not meaning how our behavior would have gotten us judged by Old Testament norms.
Everyone’s out of kilter here because they do not UNDERSTAND Christ. I understand Christ a lot better now. He dug me out of sin that must have gone down to the Moho, it was so deep. I’m bragging on Christ now, and to everyone who will listen.
While I appreciate many of your posts and insights, you do have a tendency to lecture others on what is and isn't Christian. It's actually quite snobbish and overbearing at times.
The main crux of my posts is that God does indeed still judge nations. When nations obey God and His word, He blesses, when they don't obey and recognize God and his word, He doesn't. Look what's happening to our nation currently. Also, I'm not denying the Love, Salvation, and Forgiveness of our Lord to lost sinners as you seem to be implying. I am saying, when a nation forgets God, there are indeed consequences. We are currently seeing what turning from god is costing our nation in terms of His blessings.
With all due respect, you would do well to look in the mirror and examine your heart for pride.
The book of Hebrews describes what happens to men and nations who persist in sin; theirs is the judgment of Mount Sinai where there is gloom and smoke. Those who persist in Christ have Mount Zion as their ultimate resting place.
American Christian can begin to help America when we remember that our FIRST Country is always Jesus Christ!
