To: a fool in paradise
“She also stated that she didn't hear the shots in her theater and didn't realize anything was going on till a theater employee turned off their movie and told the patrons leave.” So for those who say that the texting in the back of the theater wasn't disturbing the other patrons, apparently neither was the discharge of a firearm. Some people are that immersed into their own theater experience.

Or it may be because they turn the sound up so loud it is deafening. Or the manager may have failed to hear shots fired because shots are fired in every movie these days, at top volume. Or it could have been a multiplex, with lots of noise from multiple films at once.

It really doesn't matter. What matters is your thinking that a rude irritation in a movie theater is grounds for justifiable homicide.

I think everyone here gets that texting is rude. Do you get that a little girl is going to grow up without her father because some moron criminally shot him over texting?

Wow, maybe he shouldn’t have been texting. You never know what kind of irrational response people might have to your incivility.
