President Barack Obama predicts Congress will be busy this year debating a renewal of jobless benefits for the long-term unemployed and an immigration overhaul. But he says he wants his Cabinet also to focus on executive actions that dont require legislation.
We are not just going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we are providing Americans the kind of help that they need. Ive got a pen and Ive got a phone, Obama said.
Obama continued: And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best

Executive orders only pertain to the daily operations of the executive branch of government. They can't be used to bypass congress or govern by royal edict. But...all the repubs are either being blackmailed, extorted, or simply willing participants, so royal edict it is. Was King George III really all that bad?

Is this true, Mr. President? Do you really believe that statement? What is your definition of "hard work", sir? What is your definition of "responsibility"? Would you amplify on your comments, please?
For example, how about all the people who have dropped out of the employment pool because there are no jobs, and no hope for them? How will you help them to "work hard", to be "responsible", to be productive members of our society? What is your plan to promote enough economic growth to bring all those lost souls back into the working fold? And reduce unemployment and underemployment? I mean real economic growth, an increase in the GDP of the United States, instead of money-shuffling?
Or are these just more empty words thrown out there to be quoted and forgotten?
