Why the GOP cavalry is not coming to Chris Christie’s rescue
Washington Post ^ | 1/13/14 | Sean Sullivan

Chris Christie is one of the GOP's brightest stars and one of its best hopes for 2016. But during his toughest hour, he simply hasn't been able to count on a chorus of national GOP support rallying full-bore to his side.

-snip-

Christie's rise in GOP circles is in no small part due to an invisible but immensely powerful donor and power broker class that loves him. This wing of the party tried to woo him to run for president in 2012, even after Mitt Romney was in the race. And they are expected to be there for him in large part come 2016, should he make a national bid.

For the most part, these are not the folks who are on the front lines of the media battle, making cable news appearances and staging press conferences. Karl Rove, who has defended Christie, is part of this group of behind the scenes players. But his forward-leaning public profile the exception to the rule.

Others have also rallied to Christie's side. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus vouched for him Sunday. So did former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R).

if he was so strong..where is the support?

Exactly. Where are the Krispie crossover democrats? The single women? The minorities? The GOP moderates? The independents? Where are they?

What really made me mad at current GOP "leadership," was their horrific 2012 Convention anti-Palin show.

Anti-Palin? Where'd you get that?
Not to say there weren't terrible things about the 2012 RNC:

  1. The teleprompter voice-vote incident.
  2. The "lost bus" of delegates.
  3. There was also the retroactive rule-changes just prior to give the primaries of at least one state to Romney (stealing Ron Paul's delegates).

Ha. Yes, the RNC came out fiscally sound but spent all their credibility. All that Priebus skill with money bought us Obama, because they were raising money instead of winning the election.

We must destroy the consultant class in this country. To do this we must get rid of Boehner, McConell, and Graham. This will at least be a good first step to clean out the vermon.

If the MSM succeeds in destroying Christie's chances for 2016, as they seem to be trying to do, who is their next in line?

Jeb?

Palin's plans for being at the 2012 GOP convention were published, and they included specifics as to exactly where Palin's HQ would be located.

Shortly after that, Palin's plans were kaput ... and it became clear that Palin wouldn't be involved with the Republican convention.

I'm a Palin fan and I was excited as to her GOP prospects.
