From all accounts, Lauren Bump was an exceptional person who was kind to all and was training to be a physician’s assistant so that she could help others.

Bump wanted to go back to Guatemala — where she'd gone on a medical mission trip last Spring Break — and already had purchased a ticket, her friend said. After graduation, she anticipated going abroad again for missionary work. Eventually, she hoped to settle back in Texas and have a family of her own.This murder was done in broad daylight while she was on a run through the park.
