Even if these people pay their first month’s high-priced premium, there is a good chance they will not be able to afford to keep the payment up every month and a good percentage will just let their policies lapse through non-payment. Even people who are not well-versed in economics (which is a large percentage of the population), will quickly see that they can’t afford the expensive premiums.

And if they go to the doctor or hospital, they will find out the hard way that even though they have insurance they are paying an arm and a leg for (no pun intended), they still have to pay for most of their medical treatment out of their pocket by way of the high deductibles before the insurance even kicks in. And even after that, they will owe 20-30% co-pays.

Many will drop their coverage and pay the fine (sorry, TAX) if the IRS can find them and pay as they go with cash for their medical treatments. They will save money that way and with most people hurting from Obama’s “thriving” economy, they will realize that having insurance through ObamaCare exchanges is robbing them blind.

This insurance is setup to protect people with money from catastrophic loss. Most of these policies have 10 to 12K out of pocket cap. If you’re my age... you pay the insurance premiums, when you have some major surgery that’s going to cost you $200k before its all said and done... that’s where the economics work. If you have the money to pay the 200k out of pocket, then you for sure need the insurance.
