Republican Texas Rep. Steve Stockmans war on the mainstream element of his own party is now being met with return fire.
Stockman is running an underdog campaign in the 2014 Texas Senate primary against GOP incumbent Sen. John Cornyn. His sharp attacks on Cornyn have been indicative of the growing schism between the tea party wing of the party and what Stockman calls the GOP establishment.

And your point is???
I have met Stovall at several events down here in SE Texas...I like him a lot...I think he has potential, but like you said, Stockman is no Cruz...the same could be said about Stovall as well...
If your primary vote is a principled position, I can dig it...I would not even begin to try and change your mind...
Let’s let the primary weed out the chaff, and see what is left of the slate...
I was a part of the effort wayyyyyy back in ‘93 to help Stockman beat the crap out of the longest tenured democrat in that district down our way...his two years were a real pill for the liberals to swallow and they spent MILLIONS to unseat Stockman and replace him with the traveling wilbury in Nick Lampson...that tells you a lot about Stockmans tenacity and unwavering Pro-life and Pro-Gun positions...
I have tried to get Stovall to open up to me on several occasions and all I get is the usual leanings towards our side of the issues...That smells to me of a slight libertarian bent to Stovall’s political ideology...But I am going to keep an open mind...
Stockman is catching a lot of heat for daring to challenge the establishment incumbent, and the mood of Texas is not all that favorable to Cornyn...And recently Stockman is getting the donations to run opposition ads to counter the negativity that was started by Cornyn and his PAC’s...
The goal here is to at least come out of this primary with a run-off at the very least...
Stovall has local name recognition, Stockman has more state-wide recognition and that base is growing...
I would love to see Stovall make some moves and staty active in the local scene...If he takes the primary, a lot of ambiguities will be resolved and we’ll know a little more about him that may very well sway a few people his way...
I hope their time is not wasted either...Nor ours...
Any conservative over Cornyn in my opinion...
What is Stovall’s record??? ;-)

Now if mean voting record? None.
He is not a Lawyer, Politician, Bureaucrat, Academic.
Why would you vote for a politically unknown? He is not infected by the DC disease. Is a good clean businessman.
Yes, I know, Cornyn can win the General Election. But if he does, what does that give us?
Stockman has some baggage that the ComDems will exploit. Nothing to do with voting record.
Fair enough, I figured that would be the response...And I can dig it...No problem...
but...
What baggage is it you are talking about in regards to Steve Stockman??? I am genuinely curious to what you have heard...
I see Cornball with 65 percent in the first round, same as George P.
