Excerpted from BizPac Review: ost freedom-loving Americans celebrated the recently reported news that Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor granted an order on Dec. 31 to temporarily halt the Obamacare mandate requiring the Little Sisters of the Poor to offer contraception.
When Attorney General Eric Holder dug in to fight the Little Sisters, country rock icon and conservative tweeter Charlie Daniels offered his encouragement to the nuns.

- “The Devil Went Down To Washington”
There are cultural Catholics who are not practicing Catholics, many of who are under the illusion that the Church is a democrat organization that they’ve morphed from our civic structure.
In the past two generations, Catechesis(proper instruction ) has been lost.
Vatican II was misinterpreted and reverence and order has been lost in the West- for now- for about half here in the US if voting is a marker
Every pres election 50% vote for the dem, not realizing the impact of abortion, for one thing; not realizing that the socialjustice and union/workers’ rights fall under the category of mixing relion and state and the dems work these unwitting voters like clay
They are catholics in name only, many through improper formation. The hierarchy expects lay people to handle the instruction
It’s worse than Thanksgiving where the coservative visits the lib family. There’s no instruction happening there
“After all, theyve already given up their lives for what they believe in.”
I’m sure you meant to say they have enriched their lives beyond compare by living what they believe.
Did he talk specifically about the HHS mandate?
I wouldn’t be surprised if he did, he’s a good man.
But I’d think all of the Tea Party conservatives would talk about it, and FREQUENTLY.
-— My Catholic neighbors voted for Obama & Obama care. Go figure. -—
There are nominal members of every religion.
Remember too not to break a bruised reed.
Really.? I’m not Catholic, either, but DH is. This great news! Thanks!
Not really. If it were not for the sacrifice, their lives would not be meaningful.
Ted Cruz spoke specifically about apt of things in twenty seven ir so hours. One was that he was sure that the unions would get a subsidy after it went through, and that’s what happened
HHS mandate I would bet my retirement he talked about but I didn’t have that many hours to watch
Rubio joined and like the dork talked about ‘the Godfather’ a story of depraved murderers with their own arbitrary loyalty code nothing to do with virtue
The media reported that Cruz talked about and recited ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ for twenty hours.
Cornyn’s office none of them would answer the phone to talk to his schmuck sucker lowly worthless nobody constituents, or, better stated, employers
Cruz has won multiple cases AT the Supreme Court, being a champion debater and a constitutional scholar and loyalist and I will guarantee he agrees with religious freedom these nuns are standing for
Cruz knows his place. It is and will be healthy for us that he doesn’t fight and stick his charming and strong self into every single fight
He is paying attention
Depend on it
‘Give up their lives’ works just fine. In Catholicism it is known as ‘dying to oneself’ and it has to do wit living God’s will. It is a true martyr’s life. These women made the decision long ago to not put their will before God’s will .
It parallells marriage and also military combat
They’re not wringing their hands in decision making and taking late night calls from big money lawyers
They gave that up a long time ago
See the film about the monks. I’ll look it up
“Of Gods and Men”
Exactly!
Too many conservatives want someone else to do all the dirty work.
I only fear the day that such a person comes along and becomes the biggest tyrant the nation has ever known.
From Pro Life News:
“...Senator Ted Cruz is a pro-life politician, however. And his time in the Senate, however brief, does show that. He also has a 100 percent score from the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC), and spoke at the NRLCs conference in June of this year. And at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in March of this year, where he was the keynote speaker, he spoke against the HHS Mandate for its assault on religious liberty....”
“..He is paying attention
Depend on it”
True dat.
But we only have a few who fight hard, and a few just aren’t enough.
We need to take the RNC back, just as Reagan did.
“.. (CPAC) in March of this year, where he was the keynote speaker, he spoke against the HHS Mandate for its assault on religious liberty....
I’m glad to hear that, and not surprised. Wish more would emulate him.
Sounds like a bit of a distortion — isn’t Hobby Lobby also in this fight?
Cruz is not out of it. But others really do need to pick up the ball
The nuns are the only ones not terrified by the “R” word!
“..Cornyns office none of them would answer the phone to talk to his ..”
I got tired of being ignored by my rep., so copied and pasted from an email I sent him, and sent it as a letter to the editor, and they published it. I figured he, and/or his staff had to see my views that way, as well as readers of the newspaper. Politicians need to be exposed.
True dat.
Ooh. Good one!
