Subud in Chicago.

And Vivekananda was an impersonalist, as was Ramakrishna, also known as “I am God”ists. Not actually traditional Hinduism.

And this one wasn’t a traditional sufi either...all cults are a spin-off from an established religion aren’t they? Islam is the cultish spin-off from Judeaism and Christianity.
They are basically plagiarists imo. Just fascinates me how they get people to follow them (and give them money.)

The focus isn’t on what Subud is or isn’t, the interesting aspect here is the connection between all of them, starting with the East West Centre, Alice Dewey, Stanley Ann Dunham and what’s-her-name Fuddy.
And Suharto of all people.
That’s a powerful link to Indonesia, the source of the cult.

The ‘little red church’ the Dunhams apparently attended was actively engaged in interfaith outreach, leading to the students and teachers at the East West Centre...and Fuddy apparently.
