Oklahoma law has no effect outside of Oklahoma. Only the permit is recognized. The girls had to follow Missouri law. Not Oklahoma law.

Customers complained about open firearms...Then they need to get over it or be the folks harassed by LEO's.

Oklahoma laws pertains in “having” the permit and “keeping” the permit. That’s where Oklahoma law is in play. You can’t carry concealed with a permit that expired yesterday. That’s Oklahoma Law - as one such example of where you HAVE TO FOLLOW OKLAHOMA LAW,
AND THEN, when you’re in that other state, you’re also going to have to follow their laws, if there is some peculiar requirement that not in play when you are in Oklahoma.

If the girls had been in Arizona, which doesn't require any permit, whatsoever, they wouldn't have to have OK concealed carry to carry in AZ.
Oklahoma law wouldn't have anything to do with it.

Open carry of pistols is unlawful in Texas. And that is utter B.S. and I don't understand how that could happen and continue to stand in Texas, of all places.
To: elkfersupper
We're working to change that. We really are.

And it happened because of Reconstruction.

She HAD A CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT.
You may not realize this, so that’s why I’m posting it now. They were from OKLAHOMA and if reciprocity laws are going to be followed from other state, then you HAVE TO HAVE THAT PERMIT from your home state.
And in Oklahoma, to be able to Open Carry, you MUST have a concealed carry permit.

Then why didn't they bust her for not having her permit?

Cops are used to reading DLs not Passports.Too bad. He asked for ID (which is a gross injustice in it's own right.)
He got ID. He should have STFU.
To: JRandomFreeper
As I was pointing out, and as you can see with the map I supplied, it varies state by state across the USA, and you better know EXACTLY how it is state by state - no matter what - or you are going to get into a WHOLE HEAP OF TROUBLE.

If Missouri doesn't require a permit to open carry, then the girls don't have to have an OK permit.
That has nothing to do with recipricosity.
If it's such a big deal, why didn't the girls go to jail?
/johnny
To: RobbyS
Dont think we should burden the police beyond reason. It may be too time consuming to check out a persons right to open-carry. So you are there, and he is there,Maybe the Po-Po shouldn't be there. No laws were broken and every human has the right to open-carry.
To: ozaukeemom
I guess if he asked for a DL and was handed a passport, he might be a little unnerved.Poor baby.
Maybe he just should have refused to take the call because it was ridiculous.
To: JRandomFreeper
The end result of being questioned by the police is not necessarily “going to jail”.
I’ve been questioned by the police many times over the years in many different localities, and never once was the result - “going to jail” ... :-) ...
In regards to the license, you can see that the police clearly knew that a permit was required in Oklahoma. If they were dealing with just the Missouri law, the police would have never asked for a permit, you see.
