Police officer is totally ignorant of the 2nd AmendmentFar too many of them are. Then again the store has to refuse or tell someone to leave.

The business has the right to choose if someone is allowed to carry on their private property. They are also obligated to post signs and if any employee asks the person to leave, then I would leave even if it isn’t clear... unless you knew the company policy to the letter.

I don't carry ID unless I'm actually driving. Sorry. No ID.

Well a store can disallow people with guns in their business. It is their property. Try walking into a business and shouting as loud as you want and claiming 1st amendment rights.
The problem we have is not so much with property owners but with government ignoring our 2nd amendment rights and other God-given rights.

What’s better than a passport? Very strange.

I couldn’t believe he asked her if her passport was the only ID she had.

The LEO took this way past the point where he should have...if the store make the call...OK...it's their right...
Check their ID's and tell them to leave the store and have a nice day...
It almost seemed he was itching for the kids to foul up in some way so he could escalate it...
So he could go home and shine his badge...

“Well a store can disallow people with guns in their business.”
They specifically mention that they check for any premise postings on this.
To: Popman
Did the store ask them to leave?
And, why ask for IDs if there is nothing illegal going on?

We don’t know who made the call or what they might have said.
I can’t say I like the cop’s attitude. He pretends to be polite but acts tucked-off.
