Sure, Just strip away their childhood, sure. I hardly consider that a measurement on what is ok.

A hundred years ago, for most Americans, childhood ended at 15. Of those who went to high school, most left school at 16. Remember the TV series, “Band of Brothers”? The real Dick Winters was 24 and a captain, but he looked much older. No baby fat on those raised during the Depression.

I suppose it’s a cultural thing. My daughter is 14 and I cannot imagine her being ready to marry.
