With a budget?
Just like you and me ?
BS story.
Most likely, this was for yellow cake.
I wonder what their “Secret Santa” is like?
We call him Uncle Sam.
The Obama’s see nothing wrong here. Their attitude: let them eat cake.
That’s how they know what to change the the US government for funding.
Old paperwork is best incinerated.
Nuke ‘em all.
Nuke ‘em now.
It’s for the IRS so they can document business-related exemptions.
Oh Geeez, those Al Qaeda guys, they’re really such nice folks, they’re just misunderstood. This is something the NYT, Washington Post and La Times would cover normally. Its such a heart warming piece. Why the Al Qaeda guys are almost behaving like Christians now. No?!
In a way it makes sense.
Think OBL was scary? Ayman al-Zawhari? Pfft.
Those two are about as scary as a three-day old kitten compared to AQ’s chief of accounting.
Just wait until you meet him......you’ll s**t bricks.
:)
No, the evil bastards are not normal, but cost-accounting can make any organization, good or evil, more effective. It must be remembered that evil is parasitic and cannot exist without the misuse of good to support it, so it seems that Al Qaeda counts costs to husband resources. (Spend too much on mustard and cake and there’s less for C4 and bullets.)
The facts of the matter are not B.S. This is apparently what they do. But you seem to be attributing to this story, something that is never said or even hinted - that the story is trying to make them appear to be just like you or me. I don’t see that being even hinted here.
First of all, it is VERY INTERESTING in and if itself. Secondly, it also shows (to me, at least) that the upper echelon is very much intent on staying in control of the organization and they are not going to let their members “go off on tangents” - and thus stay close to the directions given and the philosophy and goals of the organization. And it is an organization and one in which the leaders maintain control. It also makes sense, considering Osama bin Ladin’s background in running a business..
(paraphrased)
I read the article and it could have come out of a “Young Entrepreneur “ magazine (I made that up ... if a YE mag exists, I apologize)
THis kind of stuff is bagged up by the special ops people to help track AQ.
This lady correspondent is a good reporter..based on my contact info.
If the accountants have taken over, it's just a matter of time until they are defunct.
(old oil patch saying)
This is corroborated by other stories coming out of the intel community. AQ is apparently quite anal about their expense accounting.
There are certain elements that are common across the board - and in many different areas of endeavors. Just because there are common elements doesn’t mean they are common or alike in other ways.
The mafia may have had families, their kids went to school, they lived in houses, they drove cars, they sat down at the dinner table and ate - but that doesn’t make them like the average American family.
It is an interesting aspect to that organization and one you wouldn’t normally or initially associate with them. What it does show to me is that al Qaeda is very intent on maintaining control over their organization and carrying out carefully crafted plans.
