Good. What could be more socially just than providing people the means to defend themselves?

Selective liberal arts institution and social justice....
The author didn’t see the irony in that?
social justice = the opposite of capitalism
Since you’re not allowed to really own much of anything under socialism, I guess you don’t need a gun to protect your property.
I’m not sure how a socialist could make the claim that you don’t have a right to defend yourself by any means necessary.
As well as more jobs in the distribution and retail center. Sounds like a good thing for a college town.
Brownells is the worlds largest supplier of firearms accessories and gunsmithing tools. Their headquarters and main facility is still located in Montezuma, Iowa where the business began.
Here's a link to their history:

They have a huge selection of everything you could ever need for firearm repairs, accessories, and reloading equipment.
I stop into their front office regularly just to pick up catalogs for friends. Very friendly Midwestern values people.
Iowa is much like Pa, with mostly Conservative people, but infested with with lib-dem-leftist filth in the big cities and govt’s, like Des Moines, Ames, Iowa City, Davenport, Dubuque etc. I went to Drake Univ in Des Moines, from ‘67-’71, and the place was already being infested with lib-dem trash. Probably a lot worse now.
I used to get all my shooting supplies from a local, family-owned brick and mortar store that went back to the early 1900s, but in the late '70s or early '80s they moved from downtown to a modern building out on the highway. At the same time, they decided that overdecorated athletic shoes and overpriced sweatshirts were the future - and apparently they were - so their original hunting/fishing business became essentially an appendix. With no other sources near to hand, I turned to Brownell's. It's kind of hard for me to believe I have been their customer for thirty years. Time flies.

Personally, I think we conservatives ought to adopt those terms socially conscious, social justice, when referring to gun rights because you are correct.
social justice by 230 grains is the best justice of all.
Grinnell “College” sounds like an institution that would be loaded with loud-mouth, extremist radicals who hate both America and themselves. Those born black wish they were white and those born white wish that they were black. Freaks of nature.
And use the terms against them. We’re the progressives. Socialists want regressive policies that steal people’s property like the old style kings.
We’re also compassionate as we give people the ability to defend themselves rather than be prey for others.
Exactly! Just insert the term into a conversation regarding self-defense and CCW with your favorite libs and watch their heads explode.
I think this may well be more a decision based on at the proximity to their HQ. According to MaqQuest, Grinnell ia only 21 miles from Montezuma and less than a 30 minute drive. If it weren’t for everything running N/S and E/W it would be 15 minutes.
Pretty much, but Grinnell is hardly unusual in that. Iowa was full of small colleges, many towns having the pretension that it would be the next Athens of the Midwest (or Northwest, early in the game). Many of these colleges were affiliated with Protestant denominations that became progressive/humanist social clubs, or whose faculty phagocytized their host until there was no more of the Gospel of Christ left in the institution than there would be in a railroad tie.
(While I was attending a state university, some of these small colleges had awesome reputations for having seriously wild chicks who were away from mom and dad with a vengeance.)
Some of these colleges died early (Humboldt), some not that long ago (Westmar), but they've been whittled down, and sadly, the survivors haven't been bastions of sound theology - let alone conservatism - for a long time.

I graduated from Drake in 59, and from Iowa State in 62. That was before the liveral infestations that now poison politics in Iowa. The most liberal element in Iowa politics in earlier years was Guy Gillette, A Dem Senator who was somewhat of a thorn in FDR’s side on numerous issues. I doubt Guy would be a Dem in today’s political world. At one point Guy and Bert Hickenlooper each occupied one each of the two Iowa Senate seats.
Brownell’s headquarters is less than 20 miles from the new facility opening on I-80 in Grinell. Looks like they might be taking a page out of Cabella’s ‘book’.
I have their catalog. They sell a lot of firearms and gunsmithing supplies which are hard to find.
I just realized I haven’t ordered anything from them in a few years. Their gunsmithing screw drivers fit screws so much better than regular ones.
