MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The runner-up in the Minneapolis mayoral election is recovering after being robbed and brutally beaten Thursday night at the Mall of America.
Mark Andrew, 63, was at a Starbucks inside the mall at around 7 p.m. Thursday when a man grabbed his phone off his table and ran off.
When Andrew went after him, he was tackled by two teenage girls – aged 18 and 17 — one of which began beating him with a billy club. During the attack, they told Andrew, “We’re going to kill you,” police say.
Andrew was left with a large gash on his head that required nine stitches. He has since been released from the hospital.

Mark Charles Andrew (born July 15, 1950) is an American businessperson and politician from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is a member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party and has served as Hennepin County Commissioner, representing the western portion of Minneapolis and St. Louis Park, as well as Chair of the Hennepin County Board of Commissioners. A thing to remember these days: black thugs increasingly work in groups. The guy who grabbed the iPhone was most likely unarmed (to avoid armed robbery charges) but had armed backup to stop pursuit.

Had a case in Tampa where two LEO were gunned down in cold blood in 2010, about a mile from where I work...the killer had a girlfriend (the driver) that simply drove off after the shooting...
