Christ came to save sinners.
Step 1: Acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of a Saviour.
Step 2: Repent and throw yourself down at the mercy of the Lord. Ask for His help to overcome your sin.
Step 3: Serve the Lord with all your heart and all your soul.
Most people, blinded by their pride, never get past Step 1.
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
