Let's let the U.S. and Canada divide into THREE countries: (1) Quebec, (2) the Decadent (i.e. "Liberal") States-and-Provinces, and (3) the healthy, ascendant, economically viable States-and-Provinces.

the proposal from the unitednorthamerica site is for each province to become a state.
The would mean the outermost provinces would join the usa.
quebec would go off to la la land (but not be allowed to take the hydro electric plants)
leaving the middle province(s) to think reallly hard.
