Phil Robertson has spoken out for the first time since his homophobic comments in a magazine interview went public and refused to go back on his controversial remarks, saying: ‘I will not give or back off from my path.’

The Duck Dynasty patriarch led a small Bible study group in his home town church in West Monroe, Louisiana on Sunday, granting MailOnline exclusive access.

And the deeply religious outdoorsman stood by his incendiary statements –

What You Believe About Homosexuality Doesn’t Matter

Interesting read. Of course, it assumes that gay teen suicide is due to the "intolerance" to their affliction, for lack of a better word.

If one takes the previously long-held psychological diagnosis that gayness is a mental illness, and, like many other mental illnesses, the tendency to suicide is an unfortunate result of the illness and not a reaction that can be blamed on the rest of society, then his solution, while likely harmless, probably wouldn't help, and might even hurt if substituted for diagnosis and treatment.

Good thing it was clinically proven that homosexuality isn't a mental illness /end sarcasm.

I think what he said is almost the same as what Farrakahn said, why isn’t the left going after Calypso Louie?

I don’t see it as “harmless” at all. This guy claims to be a youth pastor. He makes no delineation between the sinner and the sin in his call for “love” and he outright says that we need to toss that dusty old Bible aside b/c we just don’t have time for it.

His good intentions will lead kids to Hell. If I knew he was a pastor at my church, I’d be out of there in a heartbeat.

good point. Of course since Bin Laden is dead, we don’t have to fear him. But, we still fear people like him. But some liberals call such fears irrational.

“since his homophobic comments “

This is what they do. For years after the event, they will continue to give it a label that is way out of proportion to the actual event.

Like saying that Limbaugh made racist comments about Donovan McNabb when he said that the media favored him because he is black.

They continue to get mileage out of the original slander for years afterwards.

Translate.google.com lists the following as translations of of the English word "disgust"

Fastidium - meaning distaste, disdain, scorn, loathing, or aversion.

Taedium - meaning weariness, tedium, boredom

Tedium - meaning weariness, boredom, disgust, abomination, repugnance.

Take your pick.

...since his homophobic comments...

Nothing like framing the argument with divisive language. Have you stopped beating your wife yet?

He quoted Bible verse, apparently that is “incendiary”. Not like quoting the Koran, which calls for the beheading of infidels.

The oh-so-intellectual left loves to pretend to confuse a southern accent with unintelligence, something they would never support if it were, say, ebonics.

Also, Mark Steyn made a good point when he said that they practice cultural appropriation when they purport to speak for what “real” Christians would do and say, something they use as a bludgeon when anyone attempts to speak against Islamic doctrines against, say, sodomy or misogyny against females in Islam.

They are indeed attempting to appropriate Christianity as it has been understood by all Christians since its inception, in a very cynical manner, as they don’t believe in God’s Word themselves.

It’s also equated in the Bible to defiant rebellion against God, the sin for which Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven.

Exactly. Jesus forgve the woman caught in adultery, but told her to “go and sin no more”. He didn’t validate her sin.

And how many of those same gay teens will die prematurely of aids and the other deadly consequences of their wrong choices.

What I heard him say was, if those groups he mentioned do not change their ways, they cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven because they are in a state of sin.

Sin, remember those Ten Commandments thingies, the list of what NOT to do? Yes, those sins.

Although I understand the issues of freedom of religion and speech that are at the heart of this ongoing story, I think that the story of the Colorado bakery refusing to bake a cake for the homosexual couple is more chilling because you have an agent of the state telling a private business who it will provide services for.

THIS.. As bothered as I am with the DD and A&E story, I am horrified by the bakery story. That is more chilling than anything the Left has complained about in the last 50 years...

“Homo” means “same” in Greek, it means “man” in latin.

The Greek form means Lesbians too are homosexual.

The dictionary reference.com and Daily writing tips.com, say it’ a “loan word” from the Greek to Latin.

In polite company, I use homosexual to refer to men and women, although I usually just use the catch all word “queers”.

If what they do isn’t queer, then nothing is.

I woldn’t have the nerve to eat a cake that a baker was forced to make for me against his will.

Should be homomisia, a revulsion of homos.

That’s very good! My logomisia is trigered by hearing “homophobic”.

The first sentence above should be in quotes. Ruy Dias de Bivar said it first.
