To be even more precise, this is the scripture Phil paraphrased.
I Corinthians 6
9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men
10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
The next verse offers hope, which is one reason why we are not to judge others. This does not mean we cannot determine right from wrong, but we never know who will accept Christ’s gift of forgiveness so only God can determine who goes to heaven or hell. By the way, when Phil quoted this scripture, he was not saying he (Phil) was damning people to hell. He was quoting Paul’s words, inspired by God. Thus, Phil was quoting what GOD said.
Here’s the next verse, to which Phil alluded to today when he said Jesus could save homosexuals.
I cor. 6: 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
The unique thing about what God said in Romans 1 — is that this particular sin is actually a “judgement” from God in that He has them debasing themselves in such a way. THIS (what the LGBTs promote) is actually God’s judgement upon them in that they are to do these things to themselves. They, therefore, receive god’s judgement in the “here and now” for clearly rejecting what god has made clear to the,.
SO ... while these are all sins - fornication, adultery, thieving, drunkenness, slandering, swindling - and will not be allowed into Heaven ... none of these are, in and of themselves - a condition which God imposes upon people for their rejection of what God has made clear to them,
On the other hand — the LGBT lifestyle is a specific condition and judgement of God Himself - upon these people,
AND THEREFORE, God has put upon them the absolute worst of the worst sin possible in a human being - in order to thoroughly DEBASE them to the ultimate extent in THIS LIFE, in the HERE AND NOW and not upon “Judgement Day”.
LGBT-people are a “walking advertisement” of God thoroughly debasing someone to the maximum extent possible, in a human being. They are walking around with a “neon flashing sign” — saying — “Look at me! God has not even waited until Judgement Day to judge me!”
Yes, as Christians washed in the Blood of Christ, we are not defined by our sin, as sin no longer binds us. According to Ephesians, the moment we become Believers in Christ, we are seated with Him in the heavenly places. We are already there, as Christ’s righteousness is imputed to us! We are no longer labeled liars, swindlers, drunkards, fornicators, etc. We are now children of God and the bride of Christ. Not perfect—far from it— but completely forgiven. It’s amazing grace indeed!
The best part of all this, is that God’s Word is being repeated over and over in the media, both in written and spoken form, as reporters repeat Phil’s comments, which come from Scripture. God’s Word never comes back void, and He will use this for His glory!
