Fudimo, this is your opinion and you are welcome to it. You may be right. The response has been weak and does not stand on any principle but getting customers and revenue back. If she corrected the position she did a poor job of that too. If her underlings have done this she should discharge them if only because they made an extremely poor business decision and demonstrate that they are not trustworthy with the fate of a company with a market cap of $2.29bil and whose shares have delivered an impressive 32 year compounded annual growth rate of 18%
Rosettozero is correct this is about much more than DD, CB, or A&E. To me, JMHO, it is about Liberty and principles. You and I and Mike Wallace and Mike Huckaby can debate all day about the way Robertson said what he said or if it is right but he has the right to say it. He does have the right to say it but I think the way he said it is crude. A&E also has the right to cancel him, CB has the right to pull him off the shelves and I have the right to disagree with all the actions that go against my principles and to stand up FOR my principles. That to me is the issue. I’m standing up for my principles. One is that I will not be bullied about by a screaming minority who not only demands that I accept their point of view but that I endorse it and like it. Every tub has to set on its own bottom and face judgement. I feel like I will be judged harshly for acceptance and assuredly for endorsement or liking a position that my God has said is reprehensible.
To return to CB without them taking considerable action to demonstrate their remorse and to affirm their principles would be to violate my own. I will not do that.
Principles... pick them well and be willing to go to your grave for them and with them. Anything that does not meet that test is not a principle for me but instead merely a preference that is negotiable.
