Christmas is what this time of the year is about. Kwanzaa is a made up holiday and Chanukah is a minor Jewish holiday. Maybe Christ wasn’t born at this particular time, but we celebrate his birth. Praise Him and His sacrifice for us. I totally believe that He has given me salvation. Also thanks for your forum for truth.

Chanukah is very interesting. It gets a gospel mention as “Festival of Lights.”

The attached story and legend is uncanny with Christian parallels. It commemorates a miraculous recapture of a pagan-occupied Jewish temple by the numerically small Maccabee forces. This made the temple available when Jesus walked the earth. Legend has it that upon recapture the Maccabees found only one day’s worth of holy oil ready for the lampstand, but they lit it anyhow and it kept the lamp burning for eight days by which time more holy oil had been obtained and consecrated. So the lamps never went out until, much later, the Romans overran the temple. Chanukah itself means re-dedication. The parallel is not difficult to draw to the re-dedication of our fallen selves to the Lord. I say heaven yeah! Christians ought to be celebrating Chanukah too! And telling the story of how Christ re-dedicated them!
