I had the occasion to listen to NPR for an hour this past week. I could barely hide my smiles from my gracious host (the driver of my carpool).

The stories, in rough CONSECUTIVE order (as I recall):

1. Immigration advocates stand up for unfortunate children of illegals.
2. Tea Party Republicans continue to hurt Republicans.
3. Obamacare is staged to help those on the outer fringe of society.
4. Taxes really aren't hurting wealthy people.
5. Mandela was effectively a Saint.

What freaking “news” value am I supposed to get from that piece of c—p? The women and men talk in such kind, conversational, tones that make everything they say sound like it must be true.

I believe we need to have a variety of sources for our information, but, honestly, Free Republic already pulls those together perfectly well.

By the way, I don't think, contrary to what you said in an earlier post, that FReepers think all cops are bad in any more consistent a way as the rest of us are.

FR has self censorship and doesn’t permit presenting News pointers from particular websites, does not permit certain positions on certain topics. Even if they are in earnest and not libtard trolls.

You still feel FR is a good news source for somebody that single sources their news?
