I’m with the authoress, to an extent. “Reality TV” has ruined the History Channel, to name just one. Used to be shows about history, and I liked them even if they were biased (I can adjust for that. I’m a grown-up). Now that particular channel has “Pickers” or “Pawn Stars” on every time I surf by. In fact, there is a marathon of the latter right now.
TLC was ruined the same way.
All this got started when producers found out how much $$$ can be saved by not having writers back during the writers strike.

Maybe they need separate channels, an H Reality channel?

My pet peeve (no pun intended) is with Animal Planet. Just think how great if would be if AP bought the rights to old PBS Nature episodes, and even old Wild World of Animals and Mutual of Omaha Wild Kindom episodes. That's the sort of thing Animal Planet viewers expect, not Pit Bulls and Parolees, or Tanked, or (Heaven help us) Finding Bigfoot. Now that show is a waste of good videotape.
