Are they banning them because e-cigs are dangerous? Nope, not really. No ones reached any firm conclusion that theyre harmful and pretty much everyone agrees that theyre less harmful than real cigarettes.
No, the reason public vaping needed to be banned is that it simply looks too much like smoking.
It is very hard to smell vapor from ecigarettes. An enclosed car? Maybe.
Many vapers use sweet, fruit flavored juices. The tobacco flavors don’t smell bad, they just don’t smell like tobacco.
Ive never even seen one of these, but my granddaughter tells me they smell. One of her teachers uses them during the schoolday. I asked her if she was sure she wasnt smelling the regular cigarettes her teacher smokes when schools not in session. SHe wasnt sure. Anybody know?

They have the horrid stench of water vapor. In other words, no discernible smell at all.
It’s about criminalizing the thought of smoking.

Words can’t adequately convey how grateful I am for needing absolutely NOTHING to do with the fascist shithole NYC has become.
unfuckingreal
They look nothing like cigarettes. The only thing they have in common is the tubular shape. They are easily distinguishable from cigarettes.
The upside to this may be that the Nazis are angering people who otherwise just went along.
E-cigs -— no smell, nothing offensive other than the sight of another human being minding their own business and enjoying themselves.
New York is a quagmire of buffoonery and they all deserve each other.
As for me, I puff mine everywhere — in the airports, on airplanes, in malls, movie theaters, restaurants. On planes, the person sitting next to me rarely ever notices I’m puffing mine. You can be discreet.
I consider it a personal challenge to puff them anywhere they are banned!
It depends on the flavoring in the liquid used in them.
I've been using e-cigs, also known as PVs (personal vaporizers) for 4-1/2 years and I've noticed a lot of different smells from them: no scent at all, sweet, aromatic, musty, even a burnt rubber smell.
My wife used to like a liquid that tasted like vanilla and caramel-flavored tobacco but its room scent reminded me of a smoldering rotten log.
"So now we're making laws for stupid people?"
