Harry Reid Is Hospitalized

WASHINGTON — Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, was hospitalized Friday after falling ill in the morning, his office said.

Mr. Reid, who just turned 74, was going to remain in the hospital as a precaution. As a result, he will not be presiding over the Senate’s final day of business this year.

On another current thread, they mention that Harry Reid had a “mini” stroke in 2005.

Sometime back, I recall a doctor on another thread commenting that Reid showed behavioral changes consistent with some kind of post-stroke syndrome.

Maybe that’s the answer to the mystery of why the Democrats insist on keeping such a sickly, uncharismatic gargoyle like Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader — because if he leaves, the power struggle to replace him would tear apart the Democratic party.
