A&E did nothing that they shouldn’t have the legal right to do.
Morally, however they are on the wrong side of God’s teaching so of course they are wrong to “suspend” Phil Robertson.
Can A&E fire him for endorsing Mitt Romney?
Or for saying “I agree with the Pope and 2008 Obama on this matter”?
If you believe that this employer can fire him for words said off work hours, then do you support your gay friendly workplace (virtually all except a few notable exceptions have their “gay pride month” set asides, their tolerance and diversity training political reeducation for employees, etc.) canning you for even posting on this forum?
I’m sure A&E was within their contract rights. I agree... I’m sure Phil knows that. He is standing on principles.
So you can fire an employee for having an interview with a different entity that did not involve slander or pornographic language? Is that the excuse?
