“defenestration” is from the Latin ‘fenestra’ “window”.
These days, most of the time the expression is “throwing someone under the bus.” Since there were no buses in ancient Rome, a good substitution would be ‘currus’ “chariot”, and “under the chariot” would be ‘in curru’.
So, throwing someone under the bus would be “incurrustration”, a modern word for the Latin “coniectis in sinum currus.”
