Actually, NJ is a carry state - - but just try to get a permit. Fuhgeddaboutit.
New Jersey is shown on many of the concealed carry websites as a may issue” state, but in fact it does NOT issue carry permits to ordinary citizens. You must have a verifiable threat, which I guess means an appointment with an attacker who has sent you a certified letter to this effect, and you better have this before the minimum 60 days for the permit to be processed.
NJ just pretends to issue by having a “procedure” to issue permits, but in fact in practice, they don’t. They have already decided that you don’t need a permit, and you won’t get one.
Does NJ have any reciprocity? My brother lives in NJ and carries CW, say’s it’s reciprocity with North Carolina where he has a 2nd home.
