Isn’t that the condition of most of West Virginia?

Surprisingly, no, not anymore. I am a WV native, so I know: back in the 70's, this was true. My grandmother's place had a log cabin with an outhouse. We had rain catchment into a cistern for water. We burned wood that we cut ourselves, both to heat and to cook. Many places had their own natural gas wells, tapped into old coal mines. People were self-reliant, and did not look to the government for salvation.

Now, almost everyone in WV is on welfare and has an EBT, it seems. No more self-reliance, just government dependence. It's sickening.

No idea. There’s a lot of farmland in S. Dakota, however; some of it out in the boonies where you wouldn’t find an inspector, let alone a cop or a fireman. And Indian reservations, but I haven’t been to one.
