Note the Somali story...she FAILED in negotiating a peaceful resolution. The SEALS ended up doing the job.
My view of negatiating with pirates is either an attempt at appeasement or as a delaying move to get assets in place - to apply suppressed rounds, knife blades, and piano wire. I would prefer the latter.
Are you complaining because the pirates died or because she didn't personally shoot them?
