I own an 85 kwh Tesla Model S.

I can get up to 300 miles of range.

20% reduction if it is really cold if you preheat the car while it is plugged in.

Worst case scenario is 230 miles of range if it below freezing and you have to warm the car on the road.

Norway has the highest per capital Tesla ownership in the world.

Money to fuel my car does not bolster the international price of oil and get filtered to Iran, Russia, Venezuela, and Al Qaeda.

Really? So, what fuels the electric power generators where you live?

At least you didn't claim the energy required to create the electricity needed to fuel your Tesla is free.

And, as of 2013, we're exporting oil, not importing.

.
You couldn’t possibly be more wrong.

All forms of electric generation are inefficient.

Electric transmission is very inefficient.

Most utilities use some type of fossil fuel to generate electricity. It takes more of that fossil fuel to get the energy to your car than it would take to simply burn the fuel in the car’s IC engine to create the motive force.

Those are the facts and they are not going away.

Your mode of self-gratifying transit is a disaster for the world.

Glad you like it.

I love the looks and options.

some days I go 250-300 miles in a day..

If tesla made a gas powered, or even a volt type power system, I’d likely buy one.

I’d keep yours outside in case it bursts in to flames.

Nice to see I am not the only owner of an electric car here. I have a Nissan Leaf. On my commute of 45 miles I lose about 7 miles in the winter. All seats are heated (even the rear seats) and the steering wheel. The air conditioner in the summer does not seem to have any effect on range. Don’t gas vehicles have less mileage due to the winter blend of gasoline?

Are you in Norway? They are the 8th largest exporter of oil in the world.

How is the electricity to run your car generated?

REally? How is that electricity generated?? By coal, natural gas or fossil fuel generating plants. You are just placing one more step in between the fuel and your end use.
