Why does Santa have to be in the gospels? The Easter Bunny and tooth fairy aren’t in the gospels either is there anything wrong with children believing in magical beings which bring enchantment to their young imaginations? I don’t know anyone who looks upon Santa Claus as a God.
Reminds me of a left wind comedian who was talking about Easter. People will yell “Jesus is back! Quick, hide all the eggs!”
