"But bottom line, the friends should have stayed until the door opened. You are assuming her friends were sober and clear-thinking."

That's what I was thinking. Plenty of irresponsible behavior going around.

Guaranteed that her friends were plenty drunk, too.

It's a real shame that this happened.

She's lucky that she didn't die.

Lots of details left out of this story. Was this her apartment? Her parent's home? Why could she not find her keys?

At some point, I would have hoped she would have pounded on the door and woke her parents up. Sure, they'd be pissed, but it beats having a nearly dead daughter.

If it was her apartment/house, at some point, I'd think you'd break out a window to get inside.

Of course the whole being so drunk that you passed out for 9 hours is REALLY disturbing.

That is a TON of alcohol.

Even if the weather was warm, she was close to alcohol poisoning or death by that alone.

She was dropped off in front of a house she shared with a roommate. Footprints in the snow show she didn't go to her house (and her roommate never hear a knock, or keys fumbling). Instead, she walked to the front porch of the house next door. Eventually, she went into the garage of the house next door, presumably seeking shelter.

She was wearing jeans, Ugg boots and a light sweater. The temperature went to 17 below zero.

She didn't pass out for nine hours. Nine hours includes time at the house next door and its garage, and she paced up and down the road, according to the footprints.

Eventually, she passed out.

I'm praying for her recovery. She's already endured enough to teach her a lesson about drinking.
