Yeah, you want social conservatism to become more limited also.
You want to agree with us in private, and just ask us to leave the public face and campaigning of the GOP agenda to you guys.
I’m sorry, I mistook you for an adult trying to have a serious conversation. I’ll make a note of your name and never do that again.
Exactly. I’d rather us just go extinct (quite frankly, a real possibility as America has changed) than to become a Dim.
It already IS dialed back. “Social issues” take up about 1% of the discourse of conservative leaders.
The “Millennials” want everyone who disgrees with the extrene left to SHUT UP NOW! That means COMPLETELY!! Not One WORD!!!
No, the conservatives need to stand their ground and clearly state their platform. No retreat, no morphing, no lukewarm mushy stuff. Principles DO matter! Softening the message just makes us weaker.
Are you kidding? Out of the blue you go childish and personal?
Thanks for the insight, it explains why you want social conservatism to take a back seat and to be played down.
Great, a commercial break after your childish outburst.
You know who elects Democrats? Blacks and single women, single mothers, specifically.
Go ahead and knock yourself out trying to explain personal responsibility and liberty to them.
When you're ready to go back to time-tested things like shame and social opprobrium, maybe I'll care.
We don’t have to win them all ..just another couple per cent I agree, there are those who we’ll never reach .but we don’t have to.
But again, history is on my side. Social conservatives WIN .but NOT when they emphasize social conservatism. Now, that contention is NOT what this author said so I do not agree with the article ..but I do agree with history.
The problem is as soon as a Conservative says something sensible about manners and mores, the first people to throw him under the bus are the Rockefeller Republicans.
You accused me of being a GOP e tool .I thought it might simply inform you to know that I have some cred that would indicate that your infantile accusation was not accurate ..now, where is your cred?
What you did was become childlike in a series of posts and advertisements.
It seems to be a reflection of your views on social conservatism.
You want it played down.
Homosexuality and abortion are both bringers of death. These two elements are slow poison to any nation. Compromise on this? NEVER.
I'm an evangelical Christian 1st and Republican as a distant 2nd. But if the Pub bigwigs and/or candidates for office abandon or reverse the party's current position on moral and human life issues I won't go along with them into well deserved political oblivion that will inevitably follow. If the party bigwigs continue selling the party out to proponents of legalized infanticide, destruction of the traditional family, and unGodly sexual perversion, so be it. But I won't go to hell along with them no matter what else they may advocate and support.
I would look to a third party or stay home.
Let me repeat: you accued me of something. I presented evidence that your accusations were not only wrong, but actually absurd. Now you call that childish.
I’m sorry, it was not it was a creative response to your absurd accusation.
And FTR, please tell me when a national election was won when social issues were the driver of the messaging? NEVER. I’ve agreed that social conservatives win .and win big ..and I’ve pointed out that they do this when other issues are the drivers of the message.
I NEVER EVER said back down on principle ..I did say be wise with the message, and remember, we are talking about electing officials to secular government ..and not electing pastors. I’m sorry if this escapes you .
“To attract millenials, the GOP must become Democrats.”
