People make a big deal out of cops shot in the line of duty.

Our militarized, trigger-happy cops are changing my sentiments. The no-knock raids, the shootings of old people, and children, and dogs. Some of these cops deserve just what they get as they break down the doors of innocent citizens.

We have too man, untrained cops. Even the well-trained are not trained well enough. A retired cop I know says that when he was training officer, he had a devil of a time getting them up to speed. Their physical appearance tells you a lot.

If the cop has been shot it would be flags and half mast and moments of silence all around. But the other guy got shot... so nothing to see here. Move along.

Mainly because it is extraordinarily rare. It's a 'man bites dog' story, contrary what the powers that be would like you to believe. Most that die 'in the line of duty' are accidents involving vehicles.
