She has her surgery, is ready for round 3 of chemo. Their 12 year old gets put on Medicaid, but the type 2 diabetic US MALE cannot get health coverage even at their low income status. Reason he is a MALE, and Medicaid is mostly women and children. Men’s health is not consider at all. His RX runs out this month, a trip to the ENDO and testing is $700+ cash, they don’t have. Then there is the cheap give away meter, whose test strips are the big cost, if you are testing right you use over 100 per month. The cost of them would kill any low wage persons budget. So he has preexsisting condition, which makes him uninsurable. She will not be able to work for the year of Chemo as her job is working with sick people. And Ind. is a right to work state, which is good, but bad, if you get sick, they can terminate you for factors beyond your control.
But at least he's willing to try. You have to give him credit for that.
Then again, he may have to liquidate the excess population. I mean, they are "free riders," after all.
