Blacks have pushed whites out of solid white city neighborhoods ever since the 1950s. Some whites were headed to the suburbs anyways for more elbow room. But is there some law that says that whites can not move into a black neighborhood, pay more at prices blacks cannot afford. So the blacks have to move and find less expensive housing?
This is happening in a huge way in Washington DC. The white population of DC is increasing as it is gentrifying black neighborhoods. Damn racist Federal workers!!!

Well, this is the reverse of what happened in DC (and other major cities) when the SCOTUS “desegregated” the pubic screwls. DC became a “chocolate city” virtually over night as the whites fled to areas where their kids could get a decent education. But you are right. We see it here in the SF Bay Area. All the “city housing” in Hunter’s Point is gone, and with it most of the Blacks who made it their home (and a ghetto). Now developers are building new, expensive places for people with money to live. It’s economics trumping socialism. The city is willing to “sacrifice the blacks” for the sake of the tax base. I guess that’s what’s happening in DC.
