You are certainly not in the majority of tinnitus victims.
My hearing sucks, and my tinnitus increases every year. I was a heavy equipment operator, worked around F-4s, and drove all sorts of armored vehicles. Even with doubled hearing protection, that constant sound (especially subsonic) destroys hearing. I am constantly warning my children to turn down music especially when wearing headphones.
I tell my children that tinnitus is the sound of your ear dying.
I have it. Some days worse than others.

My first thought, exactly.
I hear ya (no pun intended). I warn kids of the dangers of blasting one’s ears out. If you make your case compellingly, they’ll take note. Also, I warn this computer generation of kids “PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR POSTURE WHILE SITTING!!”. This age of 24/7 computer use is destroying lots of backs, too!
Thanks for the ping, RB. Now, can I get somebody to answer that phone?
LOL “Ignore it”
It started when I started to read this article.
I have to leave now & go do something else:)
Posture is definitely another of my ridiculous concerns, as well. I can’t count the times that my children have told me, “No one cares about posture today. You are the ONLY parent who gets upset about it.” LOL

hmm, when we retired they told us to not even bother trying to claim hearing loss as a disability
mine got better with lipoflavinoids (various spellings)
easy enough to try
THIS MIGHT HELP SOME PEOPLE:
The Book “Wheat Belly” tries to dissuade people from eating wheat-based items....to stay gluten-free.
Book documents the chemical manipulation of wheat-—calling it “Frankenwheat.”
One man who did so claims avoiding wheat-based foods made the “ringing in his ears” stop.
Bookmark.
If Black Velvet has lipoflavinoids , I’m all in!.................
Try Brawndo....It’s Got Electrolytes!
I was wondering about tension, too, like when the vets grit their teeth at night and grind them to a pulp. When I grit my teeth then relax the ringing in my ears changes volume.
Everyone has stood on the street looking at a store window. You can see the people and stuff inside the store and also the reflection of the street scene behind you. You can focus on the street scene and the images inside the store fade into the background, or you can focus on the things inside the store and the street scene fades away.
Tinnitus is a lot like the scene in the store window...it’s about focus.
