Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, a Kentucky Republican up for re-election in 2014, told the Washington Examiner in an interview published Friday that he believes it is time for the GOP establishment to stop conservatives and Tea Partiers.
McConnell argued it is utter nonsense for groups like the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF), which has endorsed his primary challenger businessman Matt Bevin, to argue that Republicans like him in Congress are not fighting hard enough to defeat Democrats. In the interview, McConnell focused on deriding Tea Partiers for leading the effort to defund Obamacaresomething that, coupled with the Democrats refusal to compromise on the soon-to-fail Obamacare, resulted in a government shutdown.
The Senate Conservatives Fund is giving conservatism a bad name, McConnell told the Examiner for the piece titled The Establishment Fights Back: Mitch McConnell leads GOP battle against Tea Party insurgents.
Theyre [SCF] participating in ruining the [Republican] brand, McConnell said. What they do is mislead their donors into believing the reason that we cant get as good an outcome as wed like to get is not because of a Democratic Senate and a Democratic president, but because Republicans are insufficiently committed to the causewhich is utter nonsense.

People in KY just won’t remove him. They think he is some kind of “hero”.
“FUMM.”
That is exactly correct. Mitch is about to have his ass handed to him courtesy of the Tea Party, so why not take the whole party down with him via public party in-fighting. Great strategy Mitch!
That’s OK though, shine the light of truth on these RINO-rats so we can see them for what they are!

He’s been endorsed by the Senate Conservative Fund
People in KY just do the same thing over and over; they don’t go in for grand things at all. Rand Paul is a big disappointment, for instance.
They did EXACTLY that in VA last month. We now have 2 radical left Senators, Governor, Lt Gov and Attorney General.
I met Mitch in 2010, and I was stunned. Hes a creeper. He drips dirty oily politics.

There are so many! He reminds me of slimey Sen. Jim Wright (D-TX) from Fort Worth, Tarrant Co., who got the Wright Rule (or law) passed when DFW airport was to open on the Dallas-Tarrant Counties line. It restricted the previously successful regional airlines based at Love Field (Dallas) from flying out-of-state without landing in an adjoining State after leaving TX.
I’m sure I’ve forgotten some details, but this really hurt those airlines at Love Field, due to increased fuel costs, landing fees, etc.; all done to ensure his County got a larger share of the proceeds from the new DFW airport by cutting down the competition for routes. ....That law was finally repealed or expired a few years ago. ....Jim Wright was a toilet fish!
The enemy is those guys called liberals! Those guys who have a difference of opinion are your friends, not your enemies - TALK WITH THEM, NOT AT THEM!

You are intelligent, witty, a bit geeky and have great power and responsibility. |
Mitch is correct. We are finished turning the other cheek.
I hate to admit it, but I’m actually becoming kind of fond of ol’ mitchy. He has become the poster child for the gop wing of the uniparty. If you want to see what the gop really stands for...just look at ol’ mitchy. If you want to see the real spitting contempt that the gop has for conservatives...just look at ol’ mitchy.
For the 8 years that I’ve been a FReeper, I’ve been arguing that the gop is as much a threat to conservatism as the ‘rats are. Years ago, it was a notso popular of a position to take. Heck, In ol’ mitchy I see some measure of vindication. With ol’ mitchy I no longer have to even argue the point that we have a one party system. I can just point at “exhibit A”, the senator from KY, and rest my case.
“..winners make policy and losers go home, McConnell said.

Exactly. Buh bye, McConnell.
Ol’ mitchy isn’t in a panic. He’s milking his position for what it’s worth. He’s gathering money for his PAC. Which *just coincidentally* he can do pretty much anything he wants with once he leaves office.
Panicked? No. Ol’ mitchy is too busy measuring his K street office for drapes to be bothered with panicking.
How much did you help Romney??? What has the Tea Party done that gets people so upset???
