someone sitting at a table not bugging anyone else isnt harassment. he could have had an iphone in his hand video recording people and nobody would have known that’s what he was doing.

my point is the business could have handled it better, and not every complaining customer is automatically right. but you seem to believe so.

“Look, all I’m trying to do is ask what rights does a business owner have?”

Don’t ask me - but those rights are continuing to be eroded all the time. (If it was up to me, and I didn’t like google glasses, I would not serve them and run the risk of losing the google-glass-wearing demographic.)

Maybe one of those bakers that had to go out-of-business because they wouldn’t make a gay wedding cake will have a better answer.

yes a private busibess can ban them and recording devices. they probably can’t ban cops recording. however if they ban them they need to make sure people know that before entering and start servicing them. not halfway through their meal. because some businesses will ban it, they eed to clearly indicate it, customers are not mind readers and just know which places are okay with it ad which arn’t.

basically treat this the same way guns are.

yeah because that’s exactly the same as walking around in public or sitting at a table eating a burger.

what are you, six?

Weird. Can’t stow Google Glasses? No case provided by Google for them? That would be nice under a lot of circumstances. If I made them, I’d also make a folding case that unfolds to a size that can contain the Glasses and that has either a handle or a pocket/belt clip.

My guess... they didn’t want a Google Glassed diner to stumble around distracted, trip and fall, then sue them. They are kind of fugly but so what. They take up no more room than a large set of ordinary eyeglasses.

Can I stick a video camera in your face ? After all, you don’t know if it’s recording or not.

Owners can ban video cameras and google glass is just the same.

Yes, all the more reason to not add one unnecessary item to the list.

BTW, the difference between Google Glass and a security camera is obvious to even a child.

“you don’t have any right to touch another person if they don’t want you to. gently or otherwise.”

And this statement is utter baloney. So you are going to stand and watch somebody assault your friend and do nothing to stop it? You’re not going to grab someone from falling down the stairs because they didn’t give you permission? Or help someone having a heart attack? Or pull a drowning kid out of a swimming pool? You’re pretty useless to have around.

OK, I'm an old stupid tech illiterate, but what the hell is a Google Glass and why is it a big deal?

In the State of Illinois, he’s committing a felony by recording me without permission

Likewise Pennsylvania. I like to mess with those "this call may be recorded" greetings by reminding of the law and that I do NOT consent.

Out passing me on a public street, I have no expectation of privacy.

In private on my property? I set the rules. You can abide by them or leave.

As a business, you’d think it’d be a pretty good idea to have those rules written down, or warnings posted, if you are going to open up your private business to the general public.

If you have a problem with that, that is your right... To be wrong.

exactly. same as guns. if a place wants to ban them, they need to make customers aware of it before they start waiting on them, like they did to this guy.

anyone following the discussion thread knows what the context was. seeing you’re the only one who didn’t get it, and your post shows it, the idiot’s back to you.
